Five Israelis who were stuck on a mountain during a trek in Mongolia were rescued by the team sent by the Harel insurance company, Jerusalem Post reports.
The Israelis, four men and a woman in their 20s, sent out a distress signal via a satellite device on Tuesday. Due to the harsh weather conditions in the area, Harel decided to send a helicopter and hire a special team to rescue them.
About 10 hours after the helicopter took off from Israel, it landed in Mongolia. The helicopter had to make two stops on the way to refuel. The rescue was carried out by a local team that specializes in this type of operation. The families of the young Israelis have been informed about the operation's success.
