Asian Development Bank to provide $3 billion to Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - Asian Development Bank (ADB) expects to provide $3 billion in assistance to Kazakhstan in 2017-2021 to support the country’s ambition to be a top 30 global economy by 2050, the Bank said on September 18.

"Kazakhstan is committed to becoming one of the 30 most developed countries in the world by 2050. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will support this goal through the provision of more than $3 billion in assistance to the country between now and 2021," Giovanni Capannelli, ADB’s Country Director for Kazakhstan, said.

Tthe Bank’s focus will be on helping the country diversify its economy and achieve inclusive development and sustainable growth. Transforming the agriculture sector and expanding private sector investment are key opportunities, Capannelli said.
