AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov extended condolences to President of the United States Donald Trump over the Las Vegas, which resulted in numerous human casualties and injuries, the Turkmenistan Today state news agency reported.
“Resolutely opposing any terrible cycle of terrorism and extremism, Turkmenistan fully supports the world community’s efforts to counteract and eradicate this evil," the TDH cited the statement.
58 concert-goers were killed and at least 500 were injured in Las Vegas on Sunday night in deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history. The 64-year-old suspect Stephen Paddock sprayed bullets into a crowd attending a country music festival from his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, before apparently killing himself, police said.
Paddock has been described by news outlets as a "lone wolf", a "granddad", a "gambler", and a "former accountant", but not a terrorist. Motivation behind Paddock's act is unknown yet.
There has been no link found to international terrorism and no confirmation of mental illness, according to BBC.
