AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev ratified the agreement between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan on state borders, the Uzbek president's office said.
The agreement was earlier passed by upper and lower houses of Uzbekistan's bicameral parliament and fully ratified in Kyrgyzstan.
The law will allow demarcate 1,170.53 km of state border line or 85% of the entire borders of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Alisher Kurmanov, Chairman of Senate Committee for Internaitonal Relations, said that the remaining part of the borders between the countries must be defined in the near future.
On October 4, Kyrgyzstan completed ratification procedure as President Almazbek Atambayev passed the agreement, which was signed during the official visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Bishkek on 5 September 2017.
