97% of data from polling stations received as of 22:00: CEC

AKIPRESS.COM - As of 22:00 GMT+6, the Central Election Commission has received 97% of data from the polling stations, the CEC chairwoman Nurjan Shayldabekova told a press conference in Bishkek.

The voter turnout reached 55.93%. Out of 3,025,750 citizens of Kyrgyzstan eligible to vote, 1,692,423 cast their ballots.  

Voter turnout by regions:

  • Bishkek - 246,889 or 57.86%; 
  • Jalal-Abad region - 296,942 voters or 54.41%;
  • Issyk-Kul region - 141,400 or 54.57%;
  • Naryn region - 89,873 or 55.51%;
  • Osh region - 346,758 or 58.83%;
  • Osh city - 108,573 or 68.14%;
  • Talas region - 79,488 or 61.05%
  • Chui region - 251,039 or 51.12%;
  • Batken region - 126,766 or 52.01%.
Voter turnout abroad made 25.27%, which means 4 695 voters took part in elections, Ms Shayldabekova said.
