UNDP to work on strengthening of E-Governance in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Minfinkom and UNDP have launched a joint project “Public Administration Reforms and Digital Transformation”. This new initiative is aimed at assisting the government in carrying out reforms in the field of public administration and providing quality public services, the UNDP said in press release.

The joint project on public administration reforms will operate from October 2017-December 2020. The total budget amounts to USD 1,200,000.

The key areas of the joint project are following:

- Assistance in the preparation of information and analytical products in the area of effective public administration and e-government;

- Support in improving access to legal information;

- Strengthening national capacities in the areas of e-governance, ICT and STEM.

The implementation framework of the outlined directions entails institutional support of the think-tank, information and analytical support for improved public administration reform, strengthening the capacities of Mininfocom in the area of public administration and E-government.

The project will improve the Lex.uz legal information portal, development of the corporate information system of the "Uzarhiv" agency, improvement of the system for collecting and analyzing the statistics of e-services and appeals.

The project will also work to promote interest in STEM among youth, strengthen national human and technical capacities in IT and e-Government, as well to support measures for the export of high-tech products and IT services.

The new joint project will also engage both national partners, such as «Electronic Government» system development Center, Inha University in Tashkent, Mirzo Ulugbek Innovation Center and international partners, such as Delegation of the European Union, World Bank, ADB, KOICA, OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan and others to various project activities’ implementation.
