Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: Issyk-Kul woman claims to have slaughtered wolf that attacked her husband

AKIPRESS.COM - Elnura Esenjan kyzy claims to have killed a wolf with a stab wound in the heart after the beast attacked her husband.

According to the couple from a village in Issyk-Kul, the predator attacked Mirbek Kelgenbayev on November 7 while he was repairing his car that broke down on the territory of national park Sarychat-Ertash. Nobody except the couple was around when the car broke down.

"I was repairing the car with bonnet open. My little son was nearby. Suddenly I felt a bite on my leg and I knew it was a wolf. I grabbed its ears and knocked to the ground and started screaming. Then my wife came out of the car and stabbed a knife in the wolf," Mirbek said.

The woman says she came out of the car right after she heard her husband screaming and asking to bring a knife. "Then he told me to stab it with knife. I immediately did that. I was afraid that the wolf bite was severe," she said.

The defeated wolf was handed over to specialists, the couple went through medical examination.
