Man tried to smuggle $30,000 to Kyrgyzstan from Uzbekistan in underwear

AKIPRESS.COM - A man was detained by Uzbek border guards for an attempt to smuggle $34,000 in cash to Kyrgyzstan.

When asked if he had any possessions that are subject to declaration while crossing the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border, the man said no.

After his suspicious behavior, the border guards decided to conduct body search with the participation of witnesses. 

As a result, $30,000 were found hidden in man's underwear, $4,000 were in his pocket, and 510 Turkish lira were in his wallet.

Customs investigation is under way, the Uzbek border authority reported.
