AKIPRESS.COM - "It’s already becoming clear that the countries capable of adopting artificial intelligence taking into account the national characteristics become leaders of the future. Kyrgyzstan can become such a leader," Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Chief of the President’s Administration Akylbek Japarov said while delivering a lecture for members of the Cabinet of Ministers and employees of the President’s Administration on occasion of the development of artificial intelligence.
According to him, artificial intelligence is not only a technology, but also a new language in which humanity writes its future.
"In Kyrgyzstan, digitization is proceeding at a fast pace. Our efforts to digitize are already yielding good results. Digital government infrastructure, electronic services development, supercomputer projects and the creation of a Kyrgyz language chat room are all examples of how technology is becoming a part of national identity. Digital government is not a dream, but a reality. The Cabinet is using electronic document management, which has allowed us to save tons of paper, and most importantly time. Many issues are quickly solved. I recently signed the order in electronic format," Japarov noted.
He focused on the role of artificial intelligence in creating new jobs, improving quality of life and preserving cultural heritage.
The example was the project "Akylai", which demonstrates how artificial intelligence can become a symbol of revival of language and traditions.
"However, artificial intelligence carries not only capabilities but also responsibilities. We pay a special attention to the protection of citizens' data, transparency of algorithms and minimization of risks. These principles are the basis of a national strategy aimed at the benefit of every Kyrgyz citizen," Japarov said.
He also reminded that, according to the McKinsey reports, artificial intelligence can bring up to $20 trn to the world GDP. Kyrgyzstan is seeking not only economic growth, but also creation of a new model of cooperation and innovations.
The lecture was organized with participation of representatives of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and the Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence.
