AKIPRESS.COM - Forty-two illegal migrants became victims of a shipwreck off the coast of Yemen, RIA Novosti reported referring to Agence France-Presse.

The incident occurred on Sunday night several kilometers from the coast of the southern governorate of Shabwa. The Defense Ministry of Yemen reported most of the victims were from Africa.

Patrol service of Yemen conducted a rescue operation right after the shipwreck and pulled from the water around 30 people. Other circumstances of the incident are being specified.
