The thrilling show at the Fisht Stadium on Sunday night will be held under the motto ‘Reaching the Impossible’ and will celebrate the magnificent achievements of the Paralympic athletes, who have shown the world that impossible is possible through strength of spirit and relentless pursuit of sporting victory.

We are not promising an extremely grand show, but can definitely say that it will be a very interesting ceremony,” Konstantin Ernst, the head creative director of the Sochi ceremonies and the director general of Russia’s television Channel One, said.“I hope that all ceremonies of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi are unique and the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games will be somewhat different from the previous three ceremonies,” he said.

“Summing up the results of the current Games we wanted to bring up to the world the topic of the Paralympic movement during the upcoming closing ceremony,” Ernst said adding that it was important for organizers to take into account that “the Paralympic movement becomes more and more significant to the world.”

He said that to a more significant decree the ceremony would be “the march to people, who managed to overcome difficult problems enforced by life.”
