Singapore's Changi Airport wins 2014 Skytrax World Airport Awards

AKIPRESS.COM - Changi Airport in SingaporeFor the second year running Changi Airport in Singapore has been voted World's Best Airport by air travellers.

The top gong was announced at the 2014 Skytrax World Airport Awards, held at Passenger Terminal EXPO in Barcelona, Spain, Seoul’s Incheon International Airport was voted No. 2 and Germany’s Munich Airport No. 3.

Hong Kong International was named best for dining and London Heathrow came out top in the shopping league.

Tokyo International Airport Haneda was rated best domestic airport while Copenhagen earned notable recognition for having the best airport security.

Auckland International Airport was named the best airport in the Australia-Pacific region, beating Sydney (2), Brisbane (3) and Melbourne (4).

The World Airport Awards are managed by the air transport rating organisation, Skytrax Research of London, UK.

The 2014 Awards are based on 12.85 million passenger nominations across 110 nationalities of air travellers and included 410 airports worldwide. The survey evaluates 39 airport service and product key performance indicators, from check-in, arrivals, transfers, shopping, security and immigration, through to departure at the gate.
