AKIPRESS.COM - The wife of Tajikistan's President, Azizamokh Rahmon, yesterday visited the Craft Complex at Jalan Conlay in Kuala Lumpur.
She spent around 40 minutes at the complex and was treated to a demonstration of songket-making and batik-painting by craft entrepreneurs, Malaysian news agency Bernama reported.
She was also brought to view the Wedding Manifestation Heritage Craft Exhibition and the Heritage Crafts Through The Ages Exhibition at the complex.
The Craft Complex, which is styled after a Malay Sultan’s palace, is a comprehensive cultural center offering an entire spectrum on Malaysia’s traditional crafts, arts and culture. The Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation manages the complex and is tasked with the promotion and preservation of the country’s handicraft and related industries, as well as providing visitors with an insight into the uniqueness of the various handicraft of Malaysia and the people behind the crafts.
