Knowledge of Tajik language becomes compulsory for parliamentary candidates

AKIPRESS.COM - testing The Central Election Commission of Tajikistan is currently working out regulations on the procedure of testing knowledge of state language among parliamentary candidates, Asia-Plus reported.

The procedure has become compulsory for all candidates. Specialists from the Law Faculties and the Committee on the State Language and Terminology under the Government have been got involved in the work.

In line with the Tajikistan’s election legislation, the date for parliamentary elections is established no later than 75 days before the end of the term of the Parliament.

The term of the Lower House of the Parliament expires on February 28, 2015. Elections to the Upper House will be carried out 25 days after.
