Uzbekistan, UAE sign agreements on extradition of criminals, transfer of convicts

AKIPRESS.COM - extradition treaty The United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan have signed three agreements on judicial and legal cooperation, reports The Gulf Today.

The agreements were signed earlier on November 11 by UAE Justice Minister Sultan Bin Saaed Al Badi and his Uzbek counterpart Nigmatilla Yuldashev who is currently heading a delegation of Uzbekistan on visit to the UAE.

The agreements pertain to extradition of criminals, transfer of convicted persons and mutual legal assistance on criminal matters.

Al Badi praised bilateral cooperation with Uzbekistan in the judicial field and emphasized the importance of stepping up cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two countries.

Yuldashev expressed his country's keenness to enhance the ties of friendship and cooperation with the UAE.

Following the signing ceremony, the two ministers held a meeting which touched on a number of topics, including future plans for cooperation.
