Tashkent to host first meeting of upper house of parliament

AKIPRESS.COM - 3adbe5255a91ff1cbf3c61827bdc2c90_500_0_0 The Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan decided to convene the first meeting of the upper house of parliament on January 22, in Tashkent.

The Senate consists of 100 members. Currently the Commission registers 84 senators.

President Islam Karimov hasn’t yet made a decision on the appointment of 16 more members of the Senate.

It is expected that the new leadership of the chamber will be elected on the same day.
