Russia's Astrakhan hosts Days of Turkmen Cinema

AKIPRESS.COM - Turkmen movies Astrakhan is hosting a series of events dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of Turkmenistan's status of neutrality. The program of events includes Days of Turkmen Cinema that kicked off in Astrakhan with the support of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Astrakhan region.

The State Committee for TV and Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography of Turkmenistan presented Turkmen films dubbed into the Russian language for screening during Days of Turkmen Cinema in Astrakhan region. Cinemagoers will be able to watch best Turkmen films of recent years at Astrakhan’s cinema "Illusion" over the course of three days.

The official opening of the cultural action was followed by the screening of feature film "Makhtumkuli". Among the honored guests of the event were members of the government of Astrakhan region, representatives of consulates accredited in Astrakhan, heads of public associations, national and cultural societies, students and mass media representatives. Feature films such as Legenda o Kovre and Mlechniy Put’ will be also screened during Days of Turkmen Cinema in Astrakhan region.

The official ceremony of opening of Days of Turkmen Cinema in the Astrakhan region was preceded by the exhibition of Turkmen fine arts and jewelry, national clothes and Turkmen carpets in the foyer of cinema "Illusion". The regional N.K.Krupskaya scientific library presented the book exhibition called “Turkmenistan – Living Thread of Cultural Traditions.”
