Turkmenistan’s first satellite begins retransmission of new Russian TV channels

AKIPRESS.COM - satellite-internet-receivers-3 Turkmenistan’s first communications satellite TürkmenÄlem 52°E (Turkmen Universe) has started retransmitting eight new Russian TV channels, such as "Science", "History", "24 Doc", "Tehno24", "Living Planet", "Amusement Park" "Sarafan" and "Mother", reports Turkmenistan.ru.

Residents of Ashgabat have got access to these channels free of charge through IP network of the Ashgabat city exchange.

TV channels transmission has been agreed with the Turkmen Sputnik Closed Joint Stock Company that provides space communications services.

Specialists of the Turkmen Sputnik and the Russian distributors have agreed on transmission of new educational channels in a test mode throughout Turkmenistan and other Eurasian countries.

Based on preliminary results, the sides will identify areas of further cooperation and other aspects of using Turkmenistan’s communications satellite.
