More baby boys born in Kyrgyzstan than girls

AKIPRESS.COM - newborn-baby More baby boys are born in Kyrgyzstan than girls every year. The country retains the positive trend of rising fertility, the National Statistics Committee says.

Thus, 78 thousand 800 baby girls and 84 thousand 600 baby boys were born last year.

In total, 163 thousand 400 babies were born in the country in 2015, which is 1.6 thousand babies more than in 2014.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the average size of a one-time state allowance paid at the birth of a child made 2 thousand 272 som (around US$33) in 2015.

The number of recipients of state maternity benefits for the period increased by 9.2% and amounted to more than 40 thousand people.
