AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia might start exporting its cement to Russia. National producers are currently studying the relevant possibilities, says News.mn.
The country's cement production meets 90% of the domestic demand. Production has been increasing steadily year by year, and is expected to reach 4.5 million tons in 2016.
Later this year, two new cement plants will be commissioned – this should not only make Mongolia totally self-sufficient but be able to export surplus cement.
Construction sector experts believe that Mongolia is ready to turn from an importer to an exporter of cement in the near future. Mongolian cement plants use dry method technology in accordance with international standards.
State Secretary Dulmaa Nyamkhuu confirmed: “Since cement is produced in accordance with international standards, we aim to export it.”
