Mongolian President urges civil servants of Myanmar to avoid corruption

AKIPRESS.COM - Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj2 Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj urged Myanmar government officials to avoid bribery and other forms of corruption during his working trip to the country, Myanmar Times reported.

“As bribery is against the law, your political activities need to be free from it. It depends on you,” he said during a meeting at the Myanmar International Convention Center in Naypyidaw.

Elbegdorj’s statement was in response to a question from a staffer from the Ministry of Transportation and Communication about the extent of corruption in Mongolia.

“For me, I never work for my own interest. I always look at what’s best for the people. Trying to make money using your power is not good. It is not the work of politicians,” Elbegdorj said.

“There is no one involved in bribery among my family members,” he added.
