AKIPRESS.COM - Number of permanent population of Uzbekistan made up 31.977 million people as of 1 October 2016, or rose by 1.3% compared to the beginning of 2016, according to the press service of the State Statistics Committee of the country.

The number of urban population was 16.181 million people (50.6% of the total number of population) and rural population – 15.796 million people (49.4%).

The number of births was 532,400 in nine months of 2016.

In the reporting period, the number of deaths was 108,900 and in comparison with January-September 2016.

Further, about 176,100 marriages and 22,200 divorces were registered during nine months of 2016. There were 7.4 marriages and 0.9 divorces per 1000 population.
