AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and President of China Xi Jinping during their meeting on January 6 in Beijing named further expansion of the Kyrgyz-Chinese relations as the core interest of the two peoples, conducive to regional security, the press service of the Kyrgyz President's Administration said.
Atambayev and Xi discussed implementation of joint projects and shared their views with regard to some international and regional issues.
Xi noted that on January 5 the two countries celebrated 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and China. During these years, Kyrgyzstan and China could establish a political dialogue, economic and trade ties, boost cultural and humanitarian cooperation, which is very important for further cooperation.
Atambayev backed Xi's saying, noting that the two countries have an active political dialogue and see their trade ties expanding. Cultural and humanitarian field as well as security are also priority areas for Kyrgyz-China ties, he said.
"Our bilateral relations have grown to the level of strategic partnership," added Atambayev.
