Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: Snakes invade Osh school

AKIPRESS.COM - A snake invasion happened again at the secondary school in the village Birinchi May in Osh region with the warmer weather coming to the area.

Turmush correspondent talked to the locals, who said they counted 30 snakes on the school territory.

"Two years now the school counted around 30 snakes, but the last year the tally was much smaller as only few were spotted. Yesterday, on April 12, we counted some 30 snakes as the warm weather came to the area. We were afraid to come closer to them. But what's interesting that the snakes don't come closer to the children, either," the villagers said.

Meanwhile, school principal Elizaveta Rayeva says she "didn't see a snake" on her school territory last year. "We would call relevant authorities if we saw one."

Snake invasion of this school was first reported in the spring 2014, Turmush reported.

144 children study and 20 teachers work at this school.
