AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev extended condolences to the President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev over deadly landslide in Osh region, Akorda said.

"It is with deep sorrow that the head of state learned the news about the deaths of people as a result of the landslide in the Osh region. Nursultan Nazarbayev on behalf of the people of Kazakhstan and in his own name expressed sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims," the statement says.

Massive landslide buried 7 homes with 24 people inside in Ayu village of Uzgen district in Osh region at around 7 am GMT+6 on April 29.

August 30 was declared a national day of mourning in Kyrgyzstan.
