Ashgabat hosted the political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Palestine on May 2, Turkmen foreign ministry said.
Palestine delegation was led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mazen Shamiya.
Political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation issues were discussed at the consultations.
"Noting the similarity of positions on ensuring peace, security and sustainable development in the region and the world as a whole, the sides expressed their commitment to further development of regional and international cooperation. In this context, the sides paid attention to the issues of cooperation within various international organizations," the statement said.
The parties also discussed promising directions for the development of bilateral cooperation in the trade and economic sphere. During the talks, the sides paid attention to the issues of further development of relations in the field of agriculture and health.
At the same time, the importance of strengthening traditional cultural and humanitarian contacts as an integral part of the relations was noted. In this context, the parties discussed the forthcoming cultural events timed to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the State of Palestine.
During the working visit, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine will hold meetings in some ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan.
