Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: Jill Majerus from U.S. fasts during Ramadan for 18 years
AKIPRESS.COM - Jill Majerus from the U.S. has been fasting during Ramadan for 18 years, she told Turmush correspondent in Issyk-Kul.
She started fasting during Ramadan from 1999. Ms Majerus works at a tourist company.
"Many of my friends are Muslims. I am a Catholic, but every year I fast, because I find it good for health," she said.
This is the fourth visit of Majerus to Kyrgyzstan and no matter which country she is in during Ramadan month, she never quits fasting.
