3rd International Day of Yoga to be celebrated in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - Embassy of India will mark 3rd International Day of Yoga in Bishkek on July 1, the Embassy said.

In partnership with Bishkek city administration and State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of Kyrgyzstan, the Embassy will hold the main event of the International Yoga Day on 1st July 2017 in front of the Monument of Kurmanjan Datka. 

It will be a grand show in which participants will take part in a mass Yoga class. A cultural program is also included.

Mayor of Bishkek and the Director of the State Agency for Youth Affairs, Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic will be the chief guests.

The event will start at 17:30 hrs. All Yoga enthusiasts are invited to attend the event. Those who would like to take part in the Yoga performing may carry a Yoga mat.

Yoga is an ancient Indian tradition that harmonizes mind and body and provides an integrated approach to health and well-being and is now popular all over the world.

In December 2014, the United Nations adopted a Resolution on annual celebration of International Yoga Day on 21 June. The Resolution was joined by unprecedented 177 countries, including the Kyrgyz Republic. Since then International Yoga Day is celebrated in more than 100 countries around the world.
