AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov talked by phone with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the press service of the Turkmen leader said in a statement on July 6.

Erdogan congratulated the Turkmen counterpart on his 60th birthday.  Thanking for the congratulations, Berdimuhamedov noted that traditional Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, based on the unvaried goodwill of the sides, is developing successfully.

Underlining the importance of human-cultural component of the Turkmen-Turkish relations, the sides called for the deepening of contacts in this field.

Noting that at present, Turkmenistan is actively preparing for the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Berdimuhamedov invited his Turkish counterpart to participate in the opening ceremony. Erdogan expressed his confidence in the emphatic success of the forthcoming Asiada-2017.

During the telephone talk, the sides also exchanged views on a number of pressing topics of regional and global agenda. It was affirmed Turkmenistan’s and Turkey’s commitment to the consolidation of efforts for the purpose of global peacekeeping, security and prosperity.
