AKIPRESS.COM - The EU Delegation in Uzbekistan is developing the new programme focusing on skills development to provide support for new employment opportunities in rural areas in the framework of EU-Uzbekistan Multi-Annual Indicative Programme for 2014-2020 with the main focus on Rural Development, the EU Delegation reported.
The EU Experts Mission of two consultants has been working in Uzbekistan since 17 July 2017 by meeting with key government and non-government agencies as well as making a short field visit to Surkhandarya Region.
On 26 July 2017 in Tashkent, there was the Stakeholders Meeting the purpose of which was to summarise and discuss the main outcomes of Experts mission meeting with key stakeholders in order to present ideas and receive recommendations for the new programme. The main outcome of the meeting was that the participants expressed their interest and support to the new programme considering the recent state reforms in the areas of economic development in rural through creating a new jobs and improvement of secondary specialised and vocational education, especially, in an effort to meet immediate needs outlined in the Development Action Strategy for 2017-2021 of Uzbekistan.
