AKIPRESS.COM - The delegation of the international Human Rights Watch arrived in Uzbekistan to discuss human rights, Jahon news agency reported.

The purpose of the visit of Director of the Europe & Central Asia division Hugh Williamson and director of the HRW office for Central Asia Steve Swerdlow to the country is to discuss problems of human rights protection in Uzbekistan.

Another issue concerns a role of the human rights organizations in protection of human rights in Uzbekistan and cooperation between the HRW and Uzbekistan.

The delegation plans to hold talks with representatives of the ministries, law enforcement bodies, national human rights institutions and the civil society.
