AKIPRESS.COM - Two school girls were hit by a streetcar in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan on September 7, one of the girls died, Kazakh media report.
The accident happened at around 8 am GMT+6. The two sisters with birth dates 2007 and 2009 were hit by the streetcar, one of them died at the scene, the second one was rushed to the hospital. Her condition is critical, pavlodarnews.kz reported citing head of regional healthcare department Nurlan Urazalin.
The streetcar was heading to the aluminum plant. It was driven by a 30-year-old local woman, who is reported to have at least 5 years of driving experience.
A pre-trial investigation was launched into violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle resulting in the death of a human. At sentencing, she might face up to 5 years in prison.
