Kazakhstan to expel 61 Indian citizens for mass brawl in Astana

AKIPRESS.COM - 61 citizens of India will be expelled from Kazakhstan for a mass brawl at the dorm for employees of the Abu Dhabi Plaza complex in Astana, the authorities said.

Government of Astana city met with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Kazakhstan and the management of a contractor company that hired the Indian citizens for the construction of the building to discuss a recent headline-making conflict between local and foreign workers.

A conflict between the security and foreign workers of the Abu Dhabi Plaza occurred in the evening of September 2. The conflict rose to a mass fight with several people being injured and taken to hospital. More than 40 people were arrested for violation of public order.

The management of Arabtec Holding PJSC contractor company said that 61 of its foreign workers - citizens of India will leave the country for violation of public order and 23 of them will leave within 24 hours.

"During the conversation, the city's leadership said repetition of such a situation in the future is unacceptable, and called on the foreign workers to strictly observe the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, moral and ethical standards of conduct, as well as to respect the traditions of the Kazakh people," the statement says.
