AKIPRESS.COM - Ukraine has requested the World Trade Organization (WTO) consultations with Kazakhstan regarding anti-dumping measures levied by Kazakhstan on certain types of steel pipes imported from Ukraine.
The request was circulated to WTO members on 21 September.
Ukraine claims that the measures at issue are inconsistent with a number of substantive, evidentiary and procedural obligations under the WTO’s Anti-Dumping Agreement, WTO said in a release.
The request for consultations formally initiates a dispute in the WTO. Consultations give the parties an opportunity to discuss the matter and to find a satisfactory solution without proceeding further with litigation. After 60 days, if consultations have failed to resolve the dispute, the complainant may request adjudication by a panel.
