Boxing coach attacked a referee with a flurry of punches after his man was defeated in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - A bout between junior world champion Rakhat Marzhikpaev and Aman Kazangapov ended in a defeat for Mr Marzhikpaev, which his unnamed coach felt was unfair.

The raging cornerman was filmed arguing with and then punching fight referee Amangeldy Aksholakov.

The Sun reported that the boxing official was no pushover and - after receiving two blows – he stands his ground and swings one back at him.

Defeated Mr Marzhikpaev then runs to his coach’s aid, throwing a punch at Mr Aksholakov before being restrained by nearby men.

Kazakh Boxing Federation representative Bolat Abdrakhmanov said the boxer and his coach would both be suspended from the sport for a period yet to be decided.

He added: "We will try to make a decision that will serve as an example to others and will guarantee security of other referees in the future."
