Police detain Tashkent crime boss

AKIPRESS.COM - Tashkent police detained a crime boss in the capital city Abboshon Hojaev, reports Sputnik Uzbekistan.

Hojaev is accused of extortion and possession of drugs, Tashkent Police Department vice chief Doniyor Tashkhojaev said.

Hojaev is reportedly has established a criminal community and positioned himself as a crime boss.
Tashkent Police Department said the law enforcement agencies won’t allow anyone to establish criminal power.

"We have constitution, Criminal Procedural Code, regulations, local authorities, law enforcement agencies and there is no room for crime bosses. Any attempts by criminals will be suppressed,” Tashkhojaev underscored.

Hojaev faces up to 20 years in prison if charges brought against him are confirmed.
