Russian tourists who located Hillah Livne tell about search-rescue operation

AKIPRESS.COM - RgoExpo expedition center crew led by tourist Bogdan Bulychev helped the search-rescue operation to find missing Israeli hiker Hillah Livne.

RgoExpo told about how the body of the 22-year-old was found.

The Russian tourists arrived in Sary-Chelek on September 28 evening as part of the "In the Heart of Asia" international expedition to shoot videos and photos of the Sary-Chekek lake for a future film.  However, the nature reserve was closed due to ongoing searches of Hillah Livne from Tel Aviv who was hiking along with a group of other foreign hikers. She has gone missing when one of the hikers broke his leg on the mountains. She was last seen on September 23.

Learning about the situation, the Russian tourists offered their help on ground and air using their MavicPro quadrupter. The local rescue team accepted the offer, the tourists were allowed in, they stayed at the lake shore for a night and agreed to meet there in the morning of September 29 to start searching.

About 80 people participated in searches, including policemen, locals, nature reserve workers, a rescue team from Israel, cynologists with trained dogs. However, the searches did not bring results despite drones and military helicopter.

The Russian tourists were able to locate Hillah in 10 minutes with the help of their professional drone.

The RgoExpo pointed out it's been heavily raining in the area for 2 days, the showers made the path to the scene impossible to pass, the road filled with mud and dirt.

Bulichev and members of his expedition crew Anton Panov and Vladislav Porongo were able to get to the scene by their SUV in stock kit and launched the drone.

"Unfortunately, the girl was found dead. The young Israeli woman fell to the abyss located in between the cliff. Then the tourists told the rescuers about the exact location of the girl," the RgoExpo said in a statement.
