Life in rural Kyrgyzstan: 90yo woman in Batken taking care of her ill duaghter given aid

AKIPRESS.COM - 90-year-old Urunse Kudaiberdiyeva from Batken town was given a material aid after reports appeared that she takes care of her ill daughter alone.

Organizer of humanitarian aid Adilet Salimbayev said the woman was given 10,000 som. Additionally, the volunteers cleaned her house and yard. The local government bodies provided all needed clothes and things for every day use.

Urunse Kudaiberdiyeva told Turmush correspondent that her 58-year-old daughter had a stroke last year and became a person with disabilities as right part of her body didn't work ever after. The woman was once married, but now she is divorced, Kudaiberdiyeva said.

She said Kasiyet is her only child. The two also raise Kasiyet's son and get 5,000 som pension.

"If I had a son, I would never ask for help," the elder noted.
