AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov met on October 11 with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi, which will host today the CIS summit and meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Kremlin said.
During the meeting, Berdymuhamedov congratulated Putin on his 65th anniversary and gave him a Central Asian shepherd puppy (Turkmen alabai) as a gift.
"We have a friend, you might know him, it is a dog alabai. Today I took a little alabai with me, his name is Vernyi (faithful). I think this name is also popular here. When we hosted Asian Games, alabai was a symbol of the games," Berdymuhamedov said giving a gift to Putin.
He wished good health, best of luck, and all the good things to Putin.
Putin turned 65 on October 7.
