Emergency Ministry of Kyrgyzstan sets tents to serve hot meals to citizens waiting on Kyrgyz-Kazakh border

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan set tents to serve hot meals to all those waiting on the border area to enter territory of Kazakhstan as the neighboring country switched its border checkpoints to enhanced mode since October 10.

9 tents offering hot meals to citizens in queue were launched near Ak Jol, Ak-Tilek and Chaldovar checkpoints.

On October 10 evening, a huge traffic jam was reported in the Ak Jol checkpoint on Kyrgyz-Kazakh border, people faced troubles in crossing the border from Kyrgyzstan into Kazakhstan, while people crossed the Kyrgyz border from Kazakhstan without any difficulties. A huge line of trucks carrying cargo was also seen stranded on the border area.

On October 11, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev ordered the Government of Kazakhstan to address the issues surrounding Kyrgyz-Kazakh border after a talk with Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sapar Isakov in Sochi. On the night of the same day, the Kazakh side accelerated the control procedure and within one and a half hours all persons standing in line crossed the border. However, Kazakhstan side has again slowed down the procedure for passing border controls starting from 8 am October 12.
