AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolian Parliament supported the initiative to pay one-time grant of 300,000 MNT (som $122) to all government employees.
This year, state budget revenue increased by nearly 500 billion MNT ($203 million).
Therefore, the Government of Mongolia developed a proposal to provide one-time grant to all government employees, which totals 54.9 billion MNT ($22 million).
Newly appointed Minister of Finance Ch.Khurelbaatar said the previous Government promised to raise salaries of government employees establishing a tripartite social agreement.
"However, if we implement this promise, we will violate our obligation to the International Monetary Fund. Therefore, there is no way except issuing a one-time grant. Moreover, the government employees' wages have not been increased in recent years and inflation is on the rise," he said.
