Uzbekistan left without Internet due to breakdown in neighboring country

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan was cut off Internet after a serious breakdown occurred on the territory of the neighboring country.

The emergency situation occurred on November 7 and was due to the failure and restorative works on the territory of the neighboring country, the JSC Uzbektelecom reported.

All providers of the country were left without access to the Internet as a result. Resources were available only inside the country.

What country was blamed for the Internet breakdown is not known yet, the company said.

Uzbektelecom has warned of temporary disconnections of the Internet on November 7-8.

Uzbektelecom is the largest telecommunications operator, which has the monopoly right to provide access to international telecommunications networks, including the Internet. The company's networks cover entire territory of Uzbekistan.
