AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev introduced new Minister of Agriculture Umirzak Shukeyev to the staff of the Ministry of Agriculture, the press service of the PM reported.
Umirzak Shukeyev was appointed Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Agriculture on December 15.
Bakytzhan Sagintayev thanked Askar Myrzakhmetov, former Minister of Agriculture, for joint fruitful work praising his contribution to the development of the country's agriculture sector.
"The ministry has very important tasks, including the implementation of the State Program for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex," the Prime Minister noted, introducing Umirzak Shukeyev. "As the Head of State said in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan, the agrarian sector should become a new driver of the economy. The President instructed to pay special attention to ensuring the growth of processing of agricultural products, productivity, labor productivity and increasing the export opportunities of the industry. The Ministry of Agriculture should strengthen and accelerate the pace of work. The main priority is the production of high-quality and competitive products."
