Mongolia, Vietnam top officials discuss cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - Speaker of Mongolian Parliament M.Enkhbold met with Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong during his official visit to Vietnam on January 21-23, Monstame reported.

At the meeting, Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang said that multilateral activities could be organized on the occasion of 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries that will be marked next year. The events can include establishment of direct ties between cities and districts of the two countries, Vietnam-Mongolia cultural days, signing of cooperation agreement in tourism sector and implementation of investment projects, alongside organizing exhibition fairs.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Thuc told he is satisfied with moving toward bilateral trade and economic cooperation although it is gradual. He proposed to dispatch Vietnamese workers to Mongolia. He also added that Vietnam would support fully any initiative of Mongolia to invest in Vietnam.

Vietnamese side also supported Mongolian Speaker’s proposal to set up a sub-working group under the intergovernmental commission of the two countries in order to coordinate bilateral cooperation in agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and mining sectors.

During the meeting with Vietnamese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Minister put forward a proposal to export bone flour and animal hides and pledged to urgently resolve issues regarding permissions to export deep-frozen meat and meat products from Mongolia.
