AKIPRESS.COM - Minister of Road and Transport J.Bat-Erdene is paying an official visit to the People’s Republic of China at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart Li Xiaopeng, Montsame reported.

The last official visit of a Mongolian Road and Transport Minister was paid to the country in 2015. The Minister is accompanied by representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority, Ulaanbaatar Railway Company, the National Road Transport Department, Mongolian Railway Company and the Maritime Administration.

On January 29, the Minister held official talks with the Chinese Minister of Transport, and discussed bilateral transport cooperation in areas of road and aviation and the railway corridors to be established within the Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor Program. The Ministers agreed to intensify joint efforts to develop bilateral transport cooperation.

Following the bilateral meeting, the Mongolian Maritime Administration and the Chinese Maritime Safety Administration signed an MoU on maritime cooperation. Moreover, a protocol on dialogue between the Road Transport Policy Management Department of the Mongolian Ministry of Road and Transport Development and the Transport Service Department of the Chinese Ministry of Transport was signed.
