Malaysian company to build CHPP in Tajikistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Malaysian HOS International Trading SDN BHD plans to build a Central Heating and Power Plant in Tajikistan in cooperation with the Chinese companies, Avesta news agency reports.

The State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of Tajikistan said that the representatives of the Malaysian company last year visited the village of Shurob in Isfara district and received an information about the reserves of coal in a mine, where they are going to build a CHPP.

According to a source, the company plans to provide a new version of the feasibility study of the project to the government of Tajikistan by late March.

The concessionary agreement between the government of Tajikistan and the HOS International Trading SDN BHD was ratified in the Parliament of the country.

The government of Tajikistan and the Malaysian company signed the agreement on implementation of the project in late October 2013.

According to the State Committee for Investment, $400 million direct investments will be attracted for the project.
