Mongolian delegates visit the United States

AKIPRESS.COM - Within the International Visitor’s Leadership Program, Mongolian delegates led by Kh.Enkhjargal, Commissioner General and General Director of the Independent Authority Against Corruption of Mongolia (IAAC), visited Washington, Detroit and Portland cities, the United States on March 5-13, Montsame reports.

The delegates included B.Tsogoo, head of Civil Service Council, D.Khurelbaatar, General Auditor, Sh.Solongo first deputy chief of the Cabinet Secretariat, and G.Bayasgalan, State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Home Affairs.

They visited the US Department of State, Department of Justice, Departmental Ethics Office, Municipal Administration, the World Bank, Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative (StAR) of the World Bank Group as well as other organizations to get familiarized with anti-corruption activities and experiences. During the experience-sharing visit, they met representatives of public, local and non-government organizations working to combat corruption, and shared views on particularities of public organizational structures, press freedom, transparency, ways to reduce corruption index in business activity and ethics of public servants in detail.

The U.S side expressed its support Mongolia’s proposal to expand cooperation in combating corruption and its willing to organize a training under certain themes at Mongolia’s organizations, share experience and information and support an implementation of Mongolia’s National Anti-Corruption Program.
The visit put a foundation of future cooperation between anti-corruption organizations of the two countries.
