Mongolian PM, Chinese President discuss ties

AKIPRESS.COM - Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Prime Minister of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh on April 10 at Boao State Guesthouse in Hainan Province, the Chinese Foreign Ministry reported.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China has always put China-Mongolia relations on an important position in its neighborhood diplomacy. China will advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and continuously deepen relations with Mongolia in line with the principle of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness as well as the neighborhood diplomacy policy of forging friendship and partnership. At present, China-Mongolia relations are at a new historical stage. Both sides should, based on the principle of mutual trust, cooperation and win-win results, seize opportunities and push forward the development of China-Mongolia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Xi Jinping stressed that both sides should earnestly respect and accommodate each other's core interests. China has always respected Mongolia's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and respected the development path independently chosen by the Mongolian people. China is willing to, together with Mongolia, intensify high-level exchanges and exchanges at all levels and seize the important opportunities brought by the integration of China's Belt and Road Initiative and Mongolia's “Prairie Road Development” initiative, as well as expand cooperation across all fields and people-to-people and cultural exchanges. China welcomes Mongolia's active participation in the activities and development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh expressed that all people were deeply impressed by President Xi Jinping’s important speech this morning. The open and inclusive development proposed by President Xi Jinping brings broader opportunities for various countries including Mongolia. Strengthening cooperation with China is a priority of Mongolia’s foreign policy. Mongolia agrees that mutual respect is the political foundation of bilateral relations. The country firmly adheres to the one-China policy and unswervingly believes that Taiwan and Xi Zang are inalienable parts of China, and the Taiwan problem and the Xi Zang-related affairs are China's internal affairs. The Mongolian side supports the Belt and Road Initiative, and stands ready to strengthen the integration of development strategies of Mongolia and China as well as cooperation in various areas. Mongolia highly appreciates China's important contributions to safeguarding peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia.

Ding Xuexiang, Liu He, Yang Jiechi, Wang Yi, He Lifeng and others attended the meeting.
