Mongolia expects to harvest 518 thousand tons of wheat this year

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia aims to harvest 538 thousand tons of grain, of which 518 thousand tons of wheat, 171 thousand tons of potato, 102 thousand tons of vegetable, 64 thousand tons of fodder plants, 34 tons of oil plants and three thousand tons of berries, Montsame news agency reports.

To this end, 1480 entities and individuals of 14 aimags are preparing to sow grain, oil and fodder plants while over 470 entities, individuals and cooperatives and 35 thousand households are working to plant potatoes and vegetables.

Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry B.Batzorig was tasked to intensify implementation of ‘Third Campaign for Reclaiming Virgin Lands’, satisfy sustainable development of agrarian sector and organize an action to sow grain, potato and fodder plants on time.
