AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on May 15 arrived in Washington D.C. on official visit at the invitation of President Donald Trump, the President's press service said.

At the American airport, the head of state was welcomed by the U.S. officials.

The talks are scheduled for May 16-17. Mirziyoyev will hold talks with Trump on May 16.

The high-level talks are expected to focus on cooperation issues, important international and regional issues. The Uzbek President will then hold meetings in the Congress, the Ministry of Defense and the U.S State Department, as well as in the World Bank.

Following the negotiations, a joint statement and a package of documents are planned to be signed.
